"The Rocking-Horse Winner"
It is unbelievable how people are always thinking about money and richness. Sometimes people spend all their life trying to become richer and more powerful, never realizing that those things are not fundamental in life. We must value significant things as family, friends, values, religion, etc.
In the story the word lucky is directly related with money and richness but the truth is that money can bring us pain and suffer. Being lucky is not having more money is when we are happy and we are grateful with what we have. Money do not make us happier, indeed I think most of the people really enjoy life when they live with the necessary things to survive and their worries are emphasized on relationships, faith, God and enjoying life as real sons of God.

Hi María José,
Well done! I like the way you explore the issues of richness and power symbolised in the word "luck". You´ve captured the essence of the story in that "luck", defined as money, only brings unhappiness and pain to the family, and eventually, death.
